DISCIPLESHIP AT SBCC

We believe that small groups of people intentionally meeting together during the week to study God's word, pray, and encourage each other in their faith is the best way to connect with others in the church and grow spiritually. The primary goal of the groups ministry is to support discipleship and ensure there are ongoing opportunities for biblical fellowship outside of Sunday mornings.

We categorize our groups into one of three format types: Home Group, Community Group, and Discipleship Group. For a summary of the groups that are currently available, please see below.

You can always reach out to our ministry leader (Mike O'Dean) with questions at groups@mysbc.church, by stopping by the info table in the sanctuary on Sundays, or by filling out this online form

GROUP FORMAT

Home Groups are smaller gatherings (typically 8-12 people) meeting in homes for Bible study, prayer, sharing meals, and serving others.

These groups tend to stay together for longer periods of time (sometimes over multiple years) and go beyond just Bible studies.

If interested in joining any of our Home Groups, please contact Mike O'Dean at groups@mysbc.church

  • foundations class (mixed)

Foundations is the essential class at SBCC for establishing a solid biblical foundation for the Christian life. The primary goal is to provide an understanding of key Christian doctrines and take a deep-dive into the Statement of Faith here at SBCC to better understand what we believe and teach. The small group format class is six interactive lessons taught by the Elders of SBCC.

In blending basic biblical truths with personal obedience and service, topics range from an introduction to Scripture and how to study it, to the attributes of God and the Person of Jesus Christ, ministry of the Holy Spirit, salvation, church fellowship, and prayer. The class provides participants with a workbook that helps engage the Scripture with study questions and memory verses, while providing learning tools to guide practical application.

Our next class is scheduled to start Sunday, February 26th. The class will not be meeting on Sunday 3/20 (Sturgeon Bay Spring Break week) and on Sunday 4/9 (Easter).
