Foundations is the essential class at SBCC for establishing a solid biblical foundation for the Christian life. The primary goal is to provide an understanding of key Christian doctrines and take a deep-dive into the Statement of Faith here at SBCC. The small group format class is six interactive lessons taught by the Elders of SBCC.
In blending basic biblical truths with personal obedience and service, topics range from an introduction to Scripture and how to study it, to the attributes of God and the Person of Jesus Christ, ministry of the Holy Spirit, salvation, church fellowship, and prayer. The class provides participants with a workbook (Fundamentals of Faith) that helps engage the Scripture with study questions and memory verses, while providing learning tools to guide practical application.
The class is not only helpful in providing a solid foundation for new believers and those new to SBCC, but will also help mature Christians sharpen their understanding and better equip them in evangelism and discipleship. All leaders and long standing SBCC members are also encouraged to participate and be sharpened in the beliefs we affirm and teach.
The next group will be meeting Sunday February 26 - Sunday April 23rd (no meetings on 3/20 and 4/9) from 3-4:30 at the Church Annex. Childcare is available.
